Sell Silver – The NHS Needs You!

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Now, not many of you will realise – myself included, that Silver is used massively in the field of medicine!

It has been well documented for a long time that Silver has properties that can kill germs in a non-harmful way to humans. So if you have pondered whether what should be done with your scrap jewellry – surely the answer is to sell silver.

Silver has been widely used in x-rays for many years, in the form of ions – in this form, Silver has physical properties that make it effective against harmful micro-organisms (including MRSA). Recent medical research suggests that the Silver is able to interrupt bacteria’s chemical forming bonds – which are essential for their survival. Without the ability to create bonds, the bacteria basically fall apart.

The use of silver in medicine is set to increase over the coming years and with it the demand for silver will increase. There is only a finite supply of silver in the world, so get recycling! Sell silver is a perfect solution, put some cash in your pocket and recycle the worlds supply.

Sell Silver… the most underated commodity

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

With gold and silver prices still on the rise, its still a great time to sell silver.

There were reports that silver prices would drop toward the end of 2009, but they have been unfounded, the price of silver is continuing to rise and many people have already taken advantage of that.

The demand for silver will always be high. The industrial uses for silver are huge and silver remains one of the most sought after and most useful metals known to man. With widespread use within the electrical and photographic industries the use of silver is not likely to drop anytime soon.

If you have any unwanted silver lying around. Now really is the time to sell silver, at present you know you are going to get yourselves a really good deal.

2010 is the year to sell silver!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

if you are looking to kick off the year with a big bang and get some money back in your pocket after christmas and the january sales, then you can still sell silver for money.

Even though the recession has apparently ended, with interest rates aligning with inflation, the price of silver is still very very high, and you can still get a very high payout if you sell silver.

To sell silver, take a look at the buyers we have on our home page. These sell silver buyers have been carefully selected based on their silver payouts over the last few months when silver has been at its highest price.  If you have any kind of silver that you dont really need or want, then you should consider the option to sell silver for cash.

Over the christmas period, more than 23,000 pounds was paid out to brits who decided to sell silver tiems for cash.  Its definately worth it if you can find silver to sell. If you dont have any, then you can tell your friends to give you their silver and you can sell silver for them. Going halves on the profit isnt so bad if the payouts are high!

How to check the hallmark of your silver

Monday, December 14th, 2009

if you are going to sell silver jewelery and you need to know how to check the hallmark, its a good idea to be sure what you are looking for.

hallmarks come in all different shapes and sizes depending on where you got your silver jewelery from. depending on the time too your silver jewelery could have a different hallmark.

Essentially what you are looking for is an engraving of some sort, which for British sterling silver would typically be a leopards head, a crown, or a castle. If your silver has one of these engravings on it, it is sterling silver, and is worth some money if you are to sell it.

Once you have found the hallmark on your silver jewelery, you can then send it off to get it checked to see how much its worth if you were to sell it.

The above image depicts all common hallmarks that you might find on your silver jewelery. Take a look and if you find one of these marks you know you are in for a good payout!

sell silver – the pros and cons of the game

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

There are lots of companies now popping up left right and centre that offer to buy gold at the best price. This is a result of the slowing economy and more directly the decreasing value of the dollar. As the dollar weakens the value of precious metals such as gold and silver increases, as people start to buy and sell gold or silver items.

As hundreds of these gold buying companies pop up, the question for the consumer is whether it really is worth selling gold or silver?
We look at the pros and cons for consumers wanting to sell silver or sell gold for cash payments.

Pros

Sell any type of precious metal including gold, silver, platinum and in some cases diamonds
Receive a valuation before you decide to sell
If things are tight or you are unemployed, this could be a quick way to raise some cash
Most buyers accept many types of gold or silver, including jewellery, ornaments, silverware, houseware, and even dental fillings
Free postage and packing for consumers when gold is sent off to gold buyers

Cons

No guarantee on the price you will receive for your gold or silver items
Only hallmarked jewelry is accepted by some gold buyers
If your gold or silver jewellery has diamonds or other precious stones you will not be able to claim these back

One final point to mention is that selling gold or silver is quite a personal decision. 9 out of 10 people selling gold or wanting to sell silver are trying to sell jewellery. The biggest decision therefore is what that piece means to you and if you no longer want it or need it.

Based on the pros and cons above we recommend you have a think about what you stand to gain from selling gold or silver. If the price is right then it’s a good thing, and the way things are going, the price just keeps getting better.

Silver Service is less common as people sell silver

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

As the recession wares on, people are less inclined to have traditional silver service parties and receptions, a leading dating site found. The traditional silver service approach at fancy weddings and occasions is being ditched for buffets and snacks the study found, as many individuals choose to save their money by being more careful with spending at weddings etc. Easyfinadate.com conducted a study of couples up and down England looking to tie the knot in the next year, focusing particularly on how they plan to finance their wedding and live thereafter given the economic downturn. One couple who were united through the website even told of how they are now looking to sell silver gifts they recieved at their wedding, in order to help pay towards their mortgage. This came as a suprise to many who heard this however this is quite normal as wedding gift lists like john lewis and marks and spencers are abandoned for cash alternatives.

Sell Silver & Save the Planet!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

sellsilver

Now with the prices available to us all to sell silver at the moment – its a great way to raise some extra cash from unwanted jewellry that you have lying around. Not only that, its a great thing to do for the environment.

Over the last few years we have heard so much about recycling, global warming and climate change. Part of the reason for that is mining and the industrial processes that are involved. I can’t see the demand for new jewellry dying off too much amongst the rich people out there – so the demand is always going to be there and therefore the mining will continue.

So, thanks to all the people that have chosen to sell silver recently – they are not only making themselves some spare cash, they are helping to recycle some of the Earths most precious resources.

silver gifts to give at christmas

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

SnowBeech
As the festive holidays come closer everyone is thinking more and more of christmas and spending quality time with family and friends. A favorite within many cultures is the giving and recieving of gifts to celebrate joy and happiness. As we love giving and recieving christmas gifts so much as sell silver we thought wed give you guys a list of silver gifts you can share with your loved ones this year.

1. Silver Jewellery

If your not going to sell silver jewellery for money this year then why not give it away as a gift, or better still buy some new silver jewellery. A popular choice for men is a silver bracelet or chain with big chunky links in it. I was given one of these a few christmases ago by my girlfriend and it was extremely shiny.

2. Silverware

Silverware is a great gift for anyone who has just got married or moved into a new home. A new set of fine dining silver is a treat as its something that can be used straight away and has a lasting effect on any guests that come round for dinner etc.

3. Digital Camera

Ok so this is cheating slightly but silver metals are used as compounds in photography, helping the magical process work. As taking pictures and sharing them through things like facebook continues to become a trend, having a decent camera is becoming more of a necessity. If you shop around, you can get a decent 10 megapixel camera for around 50-60 pounds – an ideal gift!

Thats it for now, but well be back with more ideas of silver gifts soon. In the meantime, if you do decide to sell silver items you no longer need then check out the sell silver buyer comparison.
