Now with the prices available to us all to sell silver at the moment – its a great way to raise some extra cash from unwanted jewellry that you have lying around. Not only that, its a great thing to do for the environment.
Over the last few years we have heard so much about recycling, global warming and climate change. Part of the reason for that is mining and the industrial processes that are involved. I can’t see the demand for new jewellry dying off too much amongst the rich people out there – so the demand is always going to be there and therefore the mining will continue.
So, thanks to all the people that have chosen to sell silver recently – they are not only making themselves some spare cash, they are helping to recycle some of the Earths most precious resources.

As the festive holidays come closer everyone is thinking more and more of christmas and spending quality time with family and friends. A favorite within many cultures is the giving and recieving of gifts to celebrate joy and happiness. As we love giving and recieving christmas gifts so much as sell silver we thought wed give you guys a list of silver gifts you can share with your loved ones this year.
1. Silver Jewellery
If your not going to sell silver jewellery for money this year then why not give it away as a gift, or better still buy some new silver jewellery. A popular choice for men is a silver bracelet or chain with big chunky links in it. I was given one of these a few christmases ago by my girlfriend and it was extremely shiny.
2. Silverware
Silverware is a great gift for anyone who has just got married or moved into a new home. A new set of fine dining silver is a treat as its something that can be used straight away and has a lasting effect on any guests that come round for dinner etc.
3. Digital Camera
Ok so this is cheating slightly but silver metals are used as compounds in photography, helping the magical process work. As taking pictures and sharing them through things like facebook continues to become a trend, having a decent camera is becoming more of a necessity. If you shop around, you can get a decent 10 megapixel camera for around 50-60 pounds – an ideal gift!
Thats it for now, but well be back with more ideas of silver gifts soon. In the meantime, if you do decide to sell silver items you no longer need then check out the sell silver buyer comparison.

Now you don’t expect to be reading about the Dukes family selling off their goods to the highest bidders at auctions. It has caused quite a stir with people asking are they really entitled to be doing such a thing? Seeing as most of the stuff they are selling was given to them as presents.
I can’t help but think they are just taking advantage of the increase in the price of silver and gold in recent months. In my opinion it just seems like a good business decision. Why not sell silver? – Its not like they are keeping all the money for themselves – they are donating it to charity, so whats the problem? Jealousy?
It clearly has echoes of the Fawcett case, where he took 20 per cent of the proceeds of sales of unwanted royal gifts and caused a big scandal. For more info, check this article on the Daily Mail site.

As many around the globe (consumers and businesses alike) focus on the increasing price of gold, silver has yet to hit its all time high, a report published has announced. Although rising incredibly more than 70% to $18.45 an ounce this week, its still no where near its full potential experts claim.
Silver is not just used for jewellery, but also has a large industrial use which has plummeted after the crash of the global financial market. This leaves only the consumer silver to be traded, and as consumers sell silver as a means of revenue generation, experts wait for the price to peak so that production can increase on an industrial level. The value of silver has risen much higher than that of gold, with gold averaging a 30% increase and silver somewhere around the 70% mark.
The leading london based Bullion Research firm Gold Field Mineral Services (GFMS) state that the current rally in gold has also helped silver, and in coming weeks, silver prices may rise further and cross the $20 per ounce threshold.
A commoditites broker commented that silver is trading at Rs 29,000 a kg and is expected to cross the Rs 31,000 mark, following the obvious success of the gold market.
This news is good for consumers who want to sell silver as it means that the price will be worthwhile given the current rate. Using a comparison service like sell silver will help consumers fetch the best price in a secure and fast way.
